Scoil Uí Eilí is Uí Ruairc the Girls’and Scoil Peadar agus Pól, the Boys’ School amalgamated in 2004 thus creating Scoil Mocheallóg.
Scoil Uí Eilí is Uí Ruairc was established in 1929 by the Sisters of Charity of St. Paul. The teaching role of the Sisters in the school ended when Sr. Teresa retired in January 2012. This occasion was marked at a special Mass celebrated on the 6th January 2012.

Scoil Peadar is Pól was opened in 1966. Prior to this the Boys’ School was situated in Orr Street. Prior to 1929 the Girls’ School was on the First Floor of this building while the Boys’ occupied the ground floor.
Presently the school operates in two schools, the Junior pupils in the Girls’ School and the Senior Pupils in the Boys’ School, while we await the building of the new school. The school consists of 315 pupils, 18 teachers including the Principal and 6 resource teachers. There are 4 Special Need Assistants, a Secretary, Caretakers and Cleaners in the School. As an inclusive school, we welcome all the pupils of our area. The school caters for pupils from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. These pupils range in age between 4 years and 12 years.

Scoil Mocheallóg is a Catholic primary school which strives to provide a well-ordered, caring, happy and secure environment where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of pupils are identified and addressed.
While Scoil Mocheallóg is a school with a Catholic ethos, all religions are recognised and respected.
Scoil Mocheallóg encourages the involvement of parents through home/school contacts and involvement in Board of Management and Parents’ Association.
Scoil Mocheallóg endeavours to enhance the self-esteem of everyone in the school community, to foster in the pupils respect for people and property and to encourage in them a sense of personal responsibility.
